Maureen Kelley

Founder and Senior Consultant

Maureen Kelley, Founder, is a passionate advocate for educating, empowering and engaging people to make sound financial decisions. She offers guidance and solutions to address her client’s unique situation and financial needs.  Throughout her career, she built a strong community presence and a reputation for building and expanding relationships individually and in partnership with other professionals––focusing on the financial wellbeing of families.

Before starting MADRE, Maureen served as Senior Vice President of Private Banking at Wells Fargo Private Bank, N.A.  She began her career as a Financial Consultant at wealth management firms including Merrill Lynch, Smith Barney and Key Bank. During those early years, she recognized the need to help women in transition who were ill prepared to cope with managing their wealth and finances. She created programs designed to empower women to take charge of their financial lives.  The many workshops she has facilitated address next generation education, financial responsibility, wealth transfer, and family dynamics.

With a strong desire to serve clients on a deeper level, she has studied and earned graduate academic certifications. She is an Accredited Wealth Management Adviser through the College of Financial Planning, and a Certified Family Coach. She earned the Certificate in Family Wealth Advising through the Family Firm Institute, Executive Women’s Leadership Certification through the Wharton School, and is a graduate of Financial Therapy from Kansas State University. A student of Bowen Family Systems Theory, Maureen considers herself to be a lifetime learner.

Maureen also has the honor and privilege of being an Affiliate Consultant with Relative Solutions. Led  by Dr. Fredda Herz-Brown, Relative Solutions is a firm that manages change with families as they look to transition their wealth from generation to generation. Families that share assets must successfully manage the joining of their emotional and financial lives. Relative Solutions addresses the difficult questions that emerge from the shared risks and opportunities that define their lives together. By leveraging Relative Solutions' proven methods and tools, families both strategically plan for the future and thrive in the present.

Giving back to the community is a family tradition she learned from her parents and grandparents. Maureen has served on numerous board of directors and executive leadership committees including the American Heart Association, The Colorado Women's Leadership Foundation, World Denver and Capital Sisters. Today she is frequently called to speak on women’s financial and family dynamics issues.
